I just recently discovered an awesome box subscription called Kiwi Crate and I must say that my seven year old is in love with it.   My daughter loves science, math, exploring, building, figuring out what makes things work, and all that fun stuff.  So this was the perfect box for her.  Kiwi Crate is all about offering fun interactive STEM style activities right to your door.  Each month you get a box full of fun activities that they can build and explore with.

In our box we received a spy themed kit.  We got information on how to make each project, I love that they had it all laid out.  It was really easy to follow and included pictures so my daughter could easily read and do it by herself.  They included two items that needed to be built (a briefcase and a periscope).  They were fun to build and Kiwi Crate included everything we needed to make each project, we didn’t have to add anything to it at all.  The kit also included some fun file folders (top secret of course) that had great spy paper that they could use to write secret messages and play pretend spy with (this was my daughter’s favorite part).  They included markers, a special invisible ink pen, and sunglasses you can use to see secret messages.  There was even an activity book for her to enjoy as well.  It was packed with fun!

We had a blast completing the activities and it actually worked out great because it came on a day that she was home sick from school. So it gave her something to do during the day to make the time pass!  Kept her busy all day long and she really enjoyed making and learning about the science behind how the projects worked.  It’s a great way to introduce your kid to STEM activities.  I also love that Kiwi Crate has several different age levels set up so you can get Koala Crate for kids ages 3-4, Kiwi Crate for kids ages 5-8, and they have Doodle Crate or Tinker Crate for kids ages 9-16. I really want to try out the Doodle crate for my 15 year old sometime.  She loves crafts.
