Build Up Some Fun this Holiday Season w/ BrickLoot

As the holidays approach, I find myself trying to figure out what to get my daughters and all the other kiddos in our family.  One thing that I really love to give out is box subscriptions.  I like them because you can give them a gift outside of just Christmas day.  You can even give them a new gift every single month.  It’s a great option to put a smile on their face all year round.

Brick Loot is a new box subscription that I recently found and we love it.  It features really fun building toys like Lego and other fun brands.  Brick Loot is a box subscription company for LEGO and Brick fanatics! Subscribers will receive a monthly box filled with unique, custom and never-before-seen items that work with LEGO bricks and custom building. Each month your Brick Loot box is filled with 4-8 items that were hand picked by Brick specialists who scour the world for the newest and coolest products for you to collect.
Get custom LEGO kits, minifigures and accessories delivered to your door monthly! Invented by a 9 yr old, this box is fun for ages 6 – 99!

Our Brick Loot included a cool build featuring Pac-man from Pixels, a build of an arcade game (included instructions for different variations as well), a Lego figurine (arcade man), and a Lego head storage container.  So there was an arcade theme to it.  It worked out great though because my seven year old is obsessed with the movie Pixels (actually she is obsessed with Adam Sandler movies in general but anyways..).  So she had a lot of fun projects and toys in this one box.

The makers of the box state that the age range is 6 and up, however I don’t know if I agree.  My seven year old needed help with both of her projects.  The arcade was much easier and the instructions were very easy to follow.  The Pac-man……well she tried, I tried, my 15 year old tried, and my husband tried putting it together and it is still in pieces on the kitchen bar.  The instructions are impossible and the pieces are so tiny.  We are currently waiting to see if some other great Brick Loot fans put up an easier instruction sheet we can follow.  So I don’t know if it’s just this one project, since this is our first box, or if it’s common that they send one difficult and one easier project.  She still loved the box though and had a blast playing with the video game project, the figure, and the case is super cool.
