We love games in our house. So every year we have a bunch of games on our holiday wish list. As a mom though I like games that make my kids think and problem solve. Some of our favorite games are from PlaSmart. We recently tried out Squashed which is a fun interactive and fast-paced game. The basic concept of the game is to have each player choose a color. Then try to keep your pegs from getting Squashed. You Squash other pegs by either landing on them when you are moving your own piece or by landing on the white zone around the king and flipping the box. Move your pegs to safety by taking turn rolling and moving your pieces around the cube. Check out our quick tutorial video below:
As you can see it is a lot of fun. You can play it with 2-4 players, we have found the more players the more fun it is. It is suitable for ages 8 and up. However, my daughter is 7 and she really enjoys playing it with us. The only problem we have found with her playing it was that sometimes she gets a little upset when her pieces get squashed. The concept of the game was easy for her to understand though. We really enjoy playing Squashed it’s a ton of fun.
Squashed makes a great gift this holiday season. I love to give things that are fun for my kids to play with but have some educational value as well. Squashed really helps kinds learn about planning ahead and making a strategy as well as problem solve. Plus it is a lot of fun to play!
