Thanksgiving With Parenting In Progress (Giveaway)

This year has been one full of both good and bad (I guess that is how most years go).  It was a tough year with the loss of a dear family member but it has also been a year of blessings with the announcement of our very first grandson being on the way (hopefully right around Christmas).  Holidays always leave me reflecting on the event of the year, it’s almost over and we are going into the time that we will get to see our family and spend some quality time together.  No matter what happens during the year I always find more things to feel blessed about then to feel sorry for.  This year was no different.

Having some beautiful flowers on the table at Thanksgiving always makes me smile.  The beautiful colors, the essence of life, it’s the small things like find beauty in a table center that makes me remember to find the small things in life to be thankful for.  These beautiful flowers came from a company called FiftyFlowers.com they made ordering and putting out lovely table centers a cinch.  Make sure to check out my review of them here.

I always want things to look festive and nice during our holiday celebrations.  However, no one wants to be in the kitchen all day cleaning dishes while everyone is visiting in the other room. I guess the true reason behind the holidays is family though.  That is what I am most thankful for.  Getting everyone together in one place, to share food, but most importantly to make memories.  I love this picture of our kiddos enjoying time together, talking, and playing.  The next generation of family learning our traditions to carry on throughout the years to come.

Our table this year was beautiful thanks to FiftyFlowers and Napkins.com.  The best part of having a beautiful table though is filling it up with family and friends.  One of my favorite things about the holidays is sitting around the table telling stories, sharing memories, and just spending time together.  We are truly blessed because we have each other.

Another thing I have been feeling very thankful for this year has been my blog followers and readers.  I have been so blessed to have wonderful fans of my blog who have shared with me how my posts have brought a smile to their face, or they learned something new from reading one of my tutorial posts, or found the perfect item they were looking for from one of my review posts.  I really enjoy being able to be retired and spend time sharing our little family adventures with my readers.  It has been a labor of love and I am truly thankful for everyone who leaves a comment, shares my posts, or spends some time reading one of my posts.
