Bumble Brain Box Makes a Great Gift for Baby

Bumble Brain Box is a great box subscription service that focuses on the development of your babies brain.  The box contains new items and activities every single month.  In every box you will receive a booklet with great articles and information explaining the science behind each activity, 5 activity cards each one focusing on a different area to help target social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and auditory development, 5-10 learning accessories, and an assessment to see how your child is performing.  They also offer unlimited email support.  Check out our unboxing video to see what we got in our first box.

As a grandmother to one toddler and one on the way finding companies that promote brain health in infants and toddlers is a huge priority.  Scientists have told us that most brain development occurs within the first five years of life so fostering a healthy environment for that development is so important.

As I have mentioned here on the blog several times my seven year old is very interested in science and STEAM related projects and toys.  So I recently found this great company called Know Yourself that was perfect for her.  Know Yourself is a great box subscription that features fun activities and STEAM-based projects focused all around biology, history and civic engagement.  Each box features fun and exciting STEM focused projects and activities along with workbooks and other really fun cool items.  We did a quick video of the box we received from Know Yourself (please note that our box differed from a typical box subscription box because it is a media box for review purposes). Please refer to the list below of what is included in a typical box.

Know Yourself is based on a comic book series, the boxes follow along with this series and features fun interactive workbooks, activities, and more that teach all about the body.  It’s a great way to introduce biology and fun educational learning.

Target Grade Range / Suggested Age:  Grades range: 2nd Grade–7th Grade, Suggested age is 7–12. My daughter is 7 and really enjoyed the series.  For younger children it is fun to do the projects along side them and assist in steps they might find difficult.

Contents:  All the Adventure 1 activities and components come inside our signature Historator, a uniquely designed time traveling machine. Included in the box are the following:
1. Time Skaters Comic, Issue 1: “Fangs of Philosophy” (40 pages)
2. Adventure Guide Booklet (28 pages)
3. Sticker Sheet
4. World Map Poster
5. Vial
6. Egg Shaker
7. Secret Ultra-Violet Writing Pens Fact Sheet_ADV-1 1
8. Notebook
9. Putty
10. Magnifying Glass

They also have a four piece workbook series called Dr. Bonyfide that can be purchased and are separate from the box subscription series.  These feature some fun interactive pages that are full of educational information and activities.  Each one focuses on a different bone series like the hands, feet, brain, and torso.  It’s a great way to introduce biology and anatomy.

Gift the Joy of Reading with Story Box

storybox2

As I have mentioned my daughter loves to read and loves getting new books.  I recently found this great box subscription called Story Box that delivers new books to your doorstep every month.  Every month you will receive two new books as well as a parent guide with lots of great information.  Check out our unboxing video to see what came in our box:

You can choose between their board book package for infants to age 2 1/2 that features great board books or you can choose picture books and receive books more appropriate for kids ages 2 1/2 to 6.  My daughter is 7 and she really enjoyed the books we got in the picture book package.  Each box gives parents some tips on how to incorporate activities and learning into the process of reading.  The books are chosen by a speech-language pathologist and are carefully chosen.  One thing I love is that they use some of the proceeds to purchase books and other educational materials to benefit children with disabilities and children from low-income families.

Story Box makes a great holiday gift idea.  Giving the gift of reading is always a great choice for children, it’s a great way to foster a love of reading at a young age.  My daughter loves getting box subscriptions and gets so excited to get mail and get to open it knowing there will be fun new books inside.

You can learn more and subscribe on the Story Box Website.
